About
Martyn’s Law is a new UK law, coming into force in 2027, that will apply to any building that can hold 200 or more people — including a great many village halls, churches, schools and sports clubs. It asks the people who run those buildings to register with a regulator and have simple plans for four emergency situations. Most committees haven’t heard of it yet, and the official guidance isn’t written for volunteers. Premises Ready is for exactly those people. Start with a free two-minute check: a few plain questions about your building, and you’ll know whether the law applies to you and what it asks. Then, when the duties begin, we take your committee through the four procedures one question at a time, in words your volunteers will actually read, and keep the record you’d need if the regulator ever asked. Plain English, cited to the Act and the Home Office guidance, built for volunteer-run buildings. Independent — not affiliated with the Home Office or the SIA.
