    Purse seiner 'Zephyr' LK394 in Plymouth, early 1980s. Original photo taken by Reg Weir. 128ft steel purse-seiner 'Zephyr' LK 394 was built in 1982 at Fiskarstrand, Norway, for John A Irvine of Whalsay. After being lengthened by 55ft in 1985, 'Zephyr' began midwater pair-trawling in partnership with 'Antares' LK 419, skippered by John’s brother Lowrie. This 10-year pair-trawling partnership ended in 1996 when 'Zephyr' was bought by Fraserburgh skipper George Tait and renamed 'Challenge' FR 77, before becoming 'Alert' FR 777 in 2002.
